It is a compound parallelly connecting pyridine with benzene, and is a heterocyclic aromatic organic compound. It is colorless and hygroscopic liquid with strong odor at room temperature. When exposed to light, it will gradually turn pale yellow and further turn brown, slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in ethanol, ether and many other organic solvents.

It is yellowish and transparent liquid, with weak acid and strong anticorrosion. When exposed to light or air, it turns yellow. It has special smell and is combustible.
Application instructions
1. Quinoline is used to prepare nicotinic acid and hydroxyquinoline drugs, cyanine pigment and photopigment, rubber accelerator and pesticide 8-hydroxyquinolinone.
2. It can be used as organic synthesis reagent, basic condensing agent and solvent.
3. It can be used to manufacture cardiotonic.
