Sinochem recently released The Social Responsibility Report, 2007 (the Report hereinafter). It is the second successive year that we published the Report.
Following the SASAC’s Guidance on Central Enterprises’ Performance of the Social Responsibilities and referring to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)’s Sustainability Reporting Guidance, the Report has carefully selected the key CSR activities conducted in 2007 and expounded our mission from five dimensions—shareholders, customers/clients, employees, society and environment.
As Liu Deshu, President and CEO of Sinochem Corporation pointed out, from survival of the crisis in 1998 to achievement of four historic breakthroughs by the end of 2007, Sinochem has entered into a new phase of development and has gained a better understanding of its social responsibilities. Faced with the increasingly complicated situation in future, we shall further advance the strategic development, fully unfold the lean management, continue to enhance the competency as well as the overall quality and set an example in fulfilling the social responsibilities.
According to a third-party review, Sinochem excellently performed our overall corporate social responsibilities in respect of economy, society and environment.
Sinochem has set it up to release the CSR report annually, to demonstrate its fulfillment of the CSR as well as to open a channel for external examination to further improve our performance.
