Recently, one of the largest solar energy systems in Europe, constructed using modern architectural techniques, was installed on rooftops of the office buildings and production workshops at KraussMaffei's new headquarters and factory in Parsdorf, Germany.

The solar power system, which includes a combined heat and power unit, can meet about 46 percent of the factory's electricity needs. It is equipped with optical and motion sensors for indoor ventilation and intelligent LED lighting, resulting in an annual reduction of approximately 3,700 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
